Gaymers call for basically every video game over ten years old to be "Remade" You would never see music nor film fans saying that.

Hence "Mafia definitive edition" Complete disrespect to the original yet gaymers love it. Original Resident Evil 4 is the only game that's been remade that I can think of that's still available on modern consoles.

Demake made gameplay more bearable instead of boring driving for hours and the most dogshit gunplay against aimbotting ai i have ever seen. It's really surprising how well shooting was made in Hidden and Dangerous 2 just a year after shitty Mafia 1 they really should've delayed it for a year or make it after H&D2.
However story was completely butchered they changed personalities of multiple characters they turned MC into a confident Chad CEO killer instead of ordinary man that was working as a cab driver that just got into the mafia world by a coincidence.

Original Resident Evil 4 is the only game that's been remade that I can think of that's still available on modern consoles.

It never needed a remake and Demake is an inferior and less fun game than the OG they also made it to last longer while OG had a perfect length, instead of those added or bigger levels they should add new dlc with brand new villain in different area/setting it would be much cooler.

And doing a shitty job at that. So many films get approved for production without a sound plan for where to go with the sequels. Nobody minds a sequel when it seems like there's still somewhere for the story to go and it's a standard thing to expect sequels to be made if the project is successful yet these retarded companies don't even enforce the most basic of narrative control to ensure that people will be left wanting more, instead they're fine with not having any loose threads dangling or place for the story to go then they're surprised when the sequel makes half as much money as the original.

There's simply no excuse for not being able to play a PS2 era game. By the PS2 most of the clunkiness from early 3d days was gone. The original resident evil 4 isn't "outdated because it has tank controls and requires you to hold still while aiming. These were intentional design decisions to give the game more tension.

The only games that should be remade are PS1/N64 era. Everything else should be left alone and only brought back via collections.

I'm not inherently against remakes for games that would seriously benefit from them due to being unfinished/clearly rushed(as in missing content that was cut at the end to meat deadlines or buggy to the point of being almost unplayable), or seriously limited in terms of gameplay(AI being frozen when too far away despite levels and mechanics not taking that into consideration, projectiles despawning midair to prevent lag) and readability(low render distance of important assets, too low resolution to identify distant objects, excessive abbreviation to fit text in the UI) because of the hardware at the time but these are rarely the games that get remade because while they might have solid bones and good word of mouth associated with them they're either cult classics with a small player base or mostly forgotten. Graphical updates can be fine as long as there's an option to run a good approximation of classic graphics, gameplay should only be messed with in cases of exceptional jank that removes need for player engagement(hello GTA 3 console shooting), or balancing decisions which are both baffling and inexcusable(such as an enemy that poses little to no threat, is unavoidable and provides more resources than it takes to kill but demands that the player stand there shooting for an excessively long amount of time) but again these changes should be optional

It really depends on the game, there were definitely some from that era that I'd like to see touched up with regards to cut content that didn't have time/disc space to be completed, and hardware limiting what could be done but for the most part I agree.

I agree that remakes are retarded. They are never as good as the original. Also I would much rather have an all new game then the same fucking game over again.
