Many developed nations are facing a scarcity of women because declining birth rates cut short the pool of somewhat younger female partners for somewhat older male aspirants.

Already in the mid 1980s did demographers predict the phenomon of inceldom as after the post WWII Babyboom birth rates started declining consistently, thus making the share of younger unpartnered females available for a relationship smaller in every following birth cohort as successful older men would fly in to scoop up younger women after failed marriages etc.

The sexual revolution in the 1960s happened because there was an oversupply of young women and a relative shortage of older men for them to be paired with (WWII claimed a lot of male lives).

There were noticeably more young males also in the 1960s. More boys than girls were born in the 1930s and 1940s like is always the case. Less men born in the early 1920s so middle aged in the 1960s were alive because of the war and taking young women away from younger men helped a bit.

After WW2 in all participating countries the sex ratio at birth increased (because families with less sons were more likely to lose their all sons in the war than families with more sons and less daughters. A son from a family that has more daughters than sons would have been more likely to father more girls than boys. But if even a one brother managed to stay alive from all-males offsping, he would father sons like his fallen brothers), which was/is a bad thing. War is only a very short term relief for getting rid of surplus men. There should be societal efforts made to balance the sex ratio at birth or preferably made so that more girls are being born than boys. Would make a society happier and more peaceful. Unfortunately humankind is now making the situation even worse by aborting daughters in sex-selective abortions, e.g. in China, Vietnam, India, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia for example. Prenatal sex discernment is used to increase sex ratio at birth, making even more incels, when it should be used to lessen the problem (in the future).

The ratios of age groups and genders is probably one of the biggest natural contributors to inceldom. There are just too many men for the amount of available females. The excess causes men to have little to no value. Even if we established sexual communism I think we'd find it hard to successful find partners for everyone.

Bullshit. It would make a noticiable difference. No doubt. Less so for casual sex, but it would make a HUGE impact in the dating market and marriage market.

There is already big differences within countries. Typically in the capital region it's much easier to get a GF than in rural area with big negative migration balance. Young women move to cities more often than young men who more often stay and continue the farm.
