One thing I noticed is the Russian government has a hard time defining what its aim/mission is. Some different themes..

-A Slavic peoples state
-The Russian peoples state
-The Orthodox state

-Communist state
-Eurasian Empire state


I guess its ok that there is some ambiguity, but sometimes these goals contradict each other. Like if the Russian state is defending Russian culture, then bringing in large numbers of immigrants from Central Asia is hard to justify. Something a lot of Russians are pissed about as they see more and more Central Asian Muslims coming to live in their city. Russia I believe has two state official religions, the Orthodox Church and Islam.
