They are not viable for new games it's just peak retardation you are making all of them look significantly worse, with dogshit resolution (TAA only makes that issue 100x worse) and low refresh rate as maximum 90hz can only be played on some laughable resolutions.

CRTs work Best with the systems of their Time and viceversa if you dont own some overpriced Framemeister for your HDTV.
Up until 6th Gen Games look crisp in those CRTs because they were made for them.

But thats it.
The other appeal is the framerate of a CRT screen, but beyond that...

If you play LOTS of old games, I get it. CRTs don't have a resolution, so tiny resolution games look better when adding scanlines along with CRTs having virtually no input lag. Whereas modern TVs all need to upscale the image.

NES games are the best example I've found where the motion is jarring and they just don't look right on my OLED.

People have hobbies and if they want to spend on it, whatever. A lot of it is consoomerism, of course.

Not anymore as new screens have super low input lag. My TN screen has 1ms reaction time +144hz which is a pipe dream on CRT no matter how expensive shame about shitty color reproduction but it's a minor issue vs old lcd i've been using in the past. I would gladly move to OLED but i'm broke so it's not going to happen any time soon.

CTR is nice when playing PS1/PS2 games so it doesn't look like absolute shit like how it does on an HD TV. Other than that, you're just shooting yourself in the foot using a CTR.
