I was a teenager and there was nothing like this at the time. This, warcraft, and starcraft was the rage.

I'd play this non stop at home and at internet cafe's. I remember the cold rainy afternoons where I'd play this non stop. I'd have a bunch of candy stocked up on my desktop. I'd meet teenagers from other high schools and we'd talk about gaming, high school sports, etc... It was such a great time in my life. No worries or anything. Just experiencing this online first person shooter with kids from other high schools.

Ah you know, the random teammates, the 50/50 situation when 1vs1, the recoil etc.

Counter Strike is a game where you do not have acess to all information of what is happening during the game, this automatically makes the game luck based. its not like chess where you can just analyze the board and see what is the best move with no luck involved.

Sure, if you're solo queing you can sometimes get bad teammates. but the recoil isn't luck based at all? it's an exact pattern every single time. and what do you mean "50/50 situation when 1vs1" that doesn't make sense

Not the recoil sorry, the recoil is indeed an exact pattern. What I meant was lucky shots that you/enemie get like walking, running, flicking their camera etc awp no scope shots included.

By 50/50 I mean general 1 vs 1 situations where you cannot really control what is happening, like you are A but the last terrorist planted B and now you are going to play hide and seek at bomb B. Since he could be anywhere on the bomb site luck will decide who will win. You can find him in and kill him in the first attempt, he could be in an off angle and kill you, you csnnot find him at all etc. So many variables.

It sounds like you were just playing at a very low level. I guess the games can be pretty whimsical in silver/nova

Tbh I wish I was playing during the 1.x CS releases, I was practically just born when the game came out, though.

I started on Source right before GO came out. Mostly played BF1942 and COD2/COD3. I didn't remember having that much interest in CS originally until I saw Source, but I originally made my Steam account to play GMOD and TF2.

CS2 made the whole series go downhill due to Valve's bullshit decision to kill off GO. It's made to cater towards normgroids and Valorant cucks, along with the game having virtually no anti-cheat. It's so fun going against wallers on fresh accounts every other game I play (tbf, I don't mind blatant cheaters, but the majority of cheaters in the game right now are closet walling egomaniacs). This literally did not happen in 2012-2015 CS:GO and in Source at the scale it's at now.

Similar here. I have a total of 6000+ hours playing Source and GO since starting almost 12 years ago.
