Get a tortoise, no joke, i had one for 5 years, and they are easy to keep in pet free apartments because they don't smell or shed.

It depends. There are moments (or rather periods) in my life when I despise humans in general very much (like right now). This time, I couldn't care less that I will die alone, it's better off for everyone.
