Lol vibe coder

I find this post funny, vibe coders are allergic to programming languages aren't they?

You still can’t code a brand new OS with AI.

Vibe coders trying to larp as real programmers are like trannies trying to larp as real women

can you even call vibe coders "coders"?

I don't hate them but AI killed the fun of coding.

Yes I hate them. They're normies uber normies who'd have struggled and probably left or wouldn't have been much better but they're now taking the butter given their looks and social skills since technical skills don't matter anymore

i personally hate it but i have to do it if i want money

No, I don't hate vibe coders, because I am one.

I entered the field in 2022, got laid off in 2023, got a new job in 2024, so a few yrs of experience.

I've never used AI code until 2024.

The truth is, you can't avoid vibe coding, because of modern deadlines and demands.

I get put to work on C++, auth single sign on system, android, drone apps, and so on, much more.

Seniors encourage it too, it is simply a survival tool these days. When you have so many shit to handle with vastly different frameworks, vibe coding is a must.

My sensor also complained about me using old apis and frameworks, so he just told me to use AI.

Plus, my code is usually longer then what is allowed to be pasted into AI bots; they lose context over time.

I don't fully understand how my code works, I just test edge cases in the app itself with what I can imagine; if there's a bug, then let the user report it. Sorry I don't test my apps on bumfuck 1999 browsers.

AI generated code is shit and inconsistent, but the fact that they are bad gives you job security (for few yrs at least I think) and due to model collapse (cannibalizing AI slop data and recycling them), AI slop code isn't gonna get much better soon.

I think what truly replace people will be AI-tuned frameworks, that allows AI to easily implement things.

All in all, slop coders or not, all we are here to is surviving the grind.

You know you're fucked as a devcel when some random old bastard gen X dude can code up a business website in a couple of days. Only thing the old bastard pays is AWS fees and maybe claude code subscription.

I knew a few devs in the past couple of years who switched careers. One went into the police academy, two into electrical engineering, and one started coping with DJing. I know for damn sure the one that switched to DJing is miserable lol. He has a low social media following and is lucky to get gigs at random events. The ones that say "DM for location".

Actually I think all of them are miserable. They likely have to go back into school, get into debt, and do shitty retail, bartending, barback, or gig work.

You still need systematic thinking to iron out bugs, so vibe coding isn't that much an issue.

I've seen normies code with no code experience — they can code decently with ai bots, until the edge cases hit, that is; I ask them, how will you handle if your car wins first, then the enemy car also wins before the victory code is done executing? They are all silent.

Yeah, and he's employed. And I'm not. I couldn't get a job if my life depended on it even though I'm very passionate and I love the act of writing code. I'll just transition to math or something. And I've spent a thousand hours on it without earning a penny.

Race condition?

Race condition?
Yes, pretty much.

Race conditions are extremely difficult to handle and very widespread if you work on robotics and the robot has multiple sensors monitoring at the same time.

It's genuinely nightmare, especially when these sensors involve you going out and trigger certain rare conditions.

My apps are tuned to work on the office, but in the wilderness where cell tower signal can be weak, I don't know what would happen tbh.

Vibe coding is based af, it makes the nerds seethe. It's like a virtual hair transplant or facial surgery. Game changer for lowiqcels.

Based. Vibe coding removed the "holiness" that coding had in normies, it is no longer magic spell.
Well, now is the time for coders to seethe like artists.
