Knowing a second language is so cool to me almost like a super power. But the commitment it takes on top of all other life responsibilities makes me neglect it. Is it worth the effort?

我会说中文

But nah I think just mastering English is fine and superior because you get access to everything and only need to focus on one language

first of all start a diary, use to it to write anything from basic sentences to songs and anything you find interesting about the language you wish to lean, practice a little everyday, like less than an hour but use that time well and full concentrate, use language learning apps like Duolingo. And more than anything practice speaking and writing set language, everything from recording yourself to setting TV shows to whatever language you desire to learn with only english subtitles to know what they're saying. I thought that shit was impossible before but I literally learned French, Arabic, Italian and Japanese in a single year without paying a single cent.

I don’t know am a American not a turd worlder

Sirve para aprender a insultar

While ai translation made learning another language seem worthless, I believe that there is still value in it.
You really learn how a group of people think based on how their language is structured. How a complaint is made or how they explain their emotions. You learn these and compare with your own language to see if the language they speak predisposed them to a certain thought pattern.

One of the best advice I can give about learning a language is not to translate to you native language. Learn that language as it's own. Like how toddlers learn their first language.
I've heard people talking about how you need to master your native tongue before you can master the second language but that is for idiots who enjoy wasting time/effort. Translating every single word takes too much brainpower and you'll never be able to respond spontaneously.

its only a super power if that second language is English, imagine speaking two mudhut languages

Good advice. Also travel and use that language exclusively for 6 months.

Wenn ihr alle deutsch reden würdet, wie es sich gehört, hätte ich mir die Mühe sparen können.

I've seen anime a bit and I don't know Japanese. I don't think watching media helps.
