I remember I used to do shit like this but I'd be all sweaty and shit now. Hard to find a clear strong wall to walk up like this.

I don't deserve a GF if I can't diet and train enough to do something this simple FFS

No man.
Over for unathleticcels.

I can easily do a handstand

Using a wall is cheating. I've seen people walk some distance on their hands, of course they were excellent athletes.

Only if you're calling it a "free handstand". IMO if you're inverted and >90% of your weight is on your hands it's a handstand

Anyway it's a logical prep exercise if you don't happen to have an inversion table to get to that position

Get into calisthenics then! It's actually quite fun.

vague term

I should study more BW stuf fthough since with these vaccine restrictions I'll probably never get to become a gym member ever again

Literally everything a foid does serves only one purpose.

Incorrect. You might view that as a common purpose but many things are multifaceted serving secondary purposes to attracting Chad, like staying healthy and getting orbiters to give her things.

i have done that as a child but would probably die if i tried it now

Handwalk

it's not even my end goal I want to learn to hand walk and then climb stairs too like my waifu

Why? I only cared about shit like this when I was a normie kid.

I used to do that kind of stuff during my gymcelling phase.

I wasn't using that method, though. Instead I was throwing my legs and feet backwards, with the heels ending up touching the wall.

I mean you want the wall on your back, not the other way around. Isn't it clearly safer that way?

I remember two important tips :

  1. Always keep your arms as straight as possible. As if you wanted to push the ground.
  2. Keep your eyes fixed on the point on the ground between your hands. This is crucial to learn how to balance.

when you're nearly full inversion (hands getting closer to the wall) and there's actually a chance of falling "backward" then yes

I think the "wall walk" is more for building the base of strength/endurance that you actually have confidence about stuff like "I'm just going to whip my legs above me without collapsing onto my skull"

for the base of support yes although once confidence is present I could see experimenting with slight bends and pushups

I do HSPUs from a very limited bend (probably only 10-20 degrees of flexion in the elbow) in an inversion table which is there to catch me if I lose my balance, basically I'm pushing my ankles off the clamps

doesn't this force you to arch excessively?

in stuff like Capoeria I thought they actually focus 'forward' (off the ground) so they can see their foe

but maybe that's an advanced thing you move to after getting a base of balance

If this is a concern to you, you can follow the convict conditioning progression. Look it up.

But I've followed instructions from a gymnast, and he told me to start straight with throwing my legs. Maybe he assessed that I'd be strong enough, I don't know.

Honestly I think this exercice is much more about balance than strength. Strength is needed only once you're able to sustain the position for long. I don't think most people would just immediately collapse on their head. Instead they'd just through their legs forward back on the ground. Like I did when I began.

Yeah that is clearly not a bad idea.

I don't think so. Also I'm almost 100% sure to recall this was an instruction I was given by my gymnast mentor. I also recall that it helped me quite a bit.

However, please just look this up, I don't want to give wrong advice.

Nope, from my recollection it's something you have to do very early in the learning process.

It’s a lot easy if you’re a manlet

To clarify : he made me start against the wall. And with wall on your back once you're upside down. Otherwise the risk of falling on your back is just too high.

So :

1. Face the wall, about a meter or so away from it.
2. Put your hands on the ground in front of you, shoulder width apart.
3. Straighten your arms, keep your eyes on the point between your hands.
4. Throw your body upwards, straighten your legs and try to hit the wall with your heels.

maney so perfect

1. yes, keeping arms straight is necessary
2. no, you should focus your eyes on a fixed point but not on the ground, you should look straight (like towards the wall)

my tip to learn it is: you should try to put your hands where your feet are, like you are replacing your feet with your hands, at the same time that you're throwing your legs upwards
but that's after you're a bit habituated with the movement, should try on a wall first

I think I might try some elevated pushups / holds for a bit and then do the "walk the feet up the wall" for more enfurance then maybe the "kick up against a wall" thing.

Ill try to learn one rn brb :feelsjuice:

Where are you starting from bro?

I've been getting sore a lot lately... fuck I guess I'm in my "late 30s" now.

Guys if I get a heart attack or some shit it wasn't intentional I wasn't trying to leave you just gym-max.

be careful brother
once i fell upon my ass and i almost broke it
once i injured my shoulder too but not that serious
in general if you get a grasp of the movement and have good core balance the chances of falling or injury are very low but anyways…

Yeah i don't intend to do free balancing until I can pretty much hold that pose on a wall for at least 10 minutes tbh.

Think about how long someone able to walk on both feet is able to free-stand balancing on both feet, for example.
