Turns out I have a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates (it's the thing you causes your nose to feel clogged), and I am getting my deviated septum fixed for better breathing tomorrow. I felt tired and retarded for most of my life, ADHD symptoms, depression, and the lack of proper breathing probably didn't help with that either.

It's a 30 minute procedure and I am paying out of pocket for it ($3000). I am going under general anaesthesia :dafuckfeels:

Poor nasal breathing is what causes mouthbreathing and that weak chin mouthbreather look

Try the nasal strips and get breathepilled, it may not fix our inceldom but it makes you less retarded

Brutal man hope it goes well

I had my surgery yesterday. I felt fine the first few hours but throughout the day my face swelled and it felt like I was punched in the face. I only had my deviated septum fixed (the thing that separates your nose into two sides) and not the turbinate (the thing that clogs your nose) and I can't imagine how fucked I would've felt if I had my turbinates done as well. The roof of my mouth hurt, my cheekbones and jaws hurt, my upper palate and teeth were sensitive, my eyes were swollen and tearing up on their own. I was given antibiotics and opioids so I spent most of the day and night just keeping upright. I can only breath through my mouth for most part, so I spent most of today just sleeping on and off waking up to sip water before going back to sleep.

I can't tell yet if I am able to breathe well until I get my stents out in a couple days. Even then it takes a month for the nose swelling to calm down and for it to completely recover about 6 months to a year.

Ironically, even though the surgeon said this won't change the shape of my nose, my jew bump seems to have disappeared and my nose bridge is straight and the tip of my nose is lifted up. Maybe it's because my nose is swollen.

thx for update :feelsaww: :feelsaww: :feelsaww:

It was rough, it was like my whole face got punched. The surgery was a week ago but there's still lingering numbness and sensitivity. My nose looks slightly bruised. My two front teeth are still numb and I can't move my upper lip without a tugging sensation.

The first and second day of surgery, I was bleeding out a lot and had to change my nasal bandage every 1-4 hours. My eyes were swollen and watering. My forehead hurt, my eyes hurt, my cheekbones hurt, my jaws hurt, the upper palate of my mouth hurt, my teeth hurt. I wasn't able to breath through my nose so had to mouth breath and my mouth and lips got really dry. Didn't even eat or brush my teeth the first 2 days, and my appetite is still low.

It takes two weeks to apparently feel more able, and it can take a month for everything to look normal on the surface and live a kind of normal life and breathe normally. And apparently 3 months to a year to be fully healed.

It's only been a week and I can breath a bit through my nose now, but my nose feels dry and sensitive. But I did notice that there is already a lack of a collapsing sensation inside my mouth when I inhale, which I didn't know was abnormal my whole life.
