I will read the opinion in full when I have the free time, before forming my final opinion. My tentative opinion is that the U.S. Supreme Court got it right, and that the tariffs were unlawful.
Just hope the gov’t doesn’t have to give back refunds, as they were helping with the deficit, and that Trump can still keep compelling semiconductor companies to open up shop here. This is an insanely ironic thing though. If the market rips because of this, T will have a better shot in the midterms but he and MAGA will be angry.

Trump's tariffs friggin wreaked havoc on the markets last year lol
He had to tone it down last year when he and his team saw what was happening to the futures bond market. Basically investors were massively positioning themselves to go into bonds for gains rather than risk on stocks basically. And when Trump and his team saw that, he toned the tariffs down because if he didn't stocks would have crashed at market opening. I mean, it crashed either way but it would have been far worst.
The reason why Trump imposed tariffs on foreign countries to begin with was to satisfy his voter base that got him into power. Mainly white working class Americans in the midwestern states. There's basically a full blown meth/opoid epidemic in American cities caused by the flight of manufacturing jobs. Americans get cheaper products at Walmart and American companies (CEOs) generate massive profits which increased their stock prices.
Basically if you don't own assets, you're gonna be left behind.
The financial system has been screaming at Americans to own assets for the longest time. The system basically forces you to be a speculator just to stay afloat or else inflation just makes you poorer.
