Discussion Blair Witch film sucks

Wtf even is this film. Just watched it for the 1st time and it was dogshit yet it made millions back in 99.

The whole film is just 3 dickheads walkin round an abandoned forest documenting the 'blair witch'. The bitch isn't even seen, we just get these 3 dickheads walkin round a forest with a camcorder.

The last half hour it ramps up in intensity until they reach some random house, the dickhead camera man has his back turned, then the girl falls over screaming and that's the film. I expected something really unsettling considering this films infamy as a found footage horror which I usually find creepy but this was boring as fuck .

You have to understand that back in 1999, found footage wasn’t a thing yet and the internet was still pretty new. People were more naive and more likely to believe in conspiracies and unexplained stuff. A lot of people truly believed The Blair Witch was real , which made it much more scary. It’s hard to enjoy now unless you were there.

ye I do find found footage horrors scary but this was just 3 kids walking around an abandoned forest in daylight. The last half hour got a bit more intense but the payoff was underwhelming, it wasn't a great film all round, very boring tbh. I'm playing the Blair Witch game atm which is quite enjoyable.
