I'm always """celebrating""" these holidays with my parents. Only my parents.
I'm thankful that I still have them (and a good relationship with them), but honestly, no young adult should go through that.

You're supposed to celebrate these holidays with other people your age. With your "friends".
These holidays are just a reminder of my own subhumanity and failure.
Even my younger sister doesn't celebrate New Years Eve with us anymore.

Normal people can't even relate to these problems. It's self-evident that they have friends or at least some kind of social circle.

I've never celebrated new years eve. I've always sat in my room until the last minute, turn the tv on to see the ball drop, the ball drops, I then go back to playing video games. That was my celebration.

Islam considers birthdays (and by extension, other worldly festivities) to be impermissible. The reason is your wordly life is only temporary and you must not hang on to it, and focus on the Hereafter instead. Which is pretty awesome, considering I never really liked my own birthdays. I would always have an incredible headache for whatever reason. Only years later I found out that Islamically speaking, it's not even something I should celebrate.
