Thank God my birthdays were during summer breaks, no way my cheapskate parents would buy anything and it would be yet another reason to get humiliated at school.

I think I'm poorer now. We were poor but the main problem was my parents being extremely selfish and not caring for kids needs, they were throwing the money we had on junk cars and rubbish.
