GTA 2 had the most interesting setting. But I never played it myself. I only played 3-VC-SA. I'd rank those three as 3 > VC >>>>>SA. SA introduced lots of unnecessary annoying dumb shit like having to go to the gym, the various schools, having to do those button mashing missions where you dance or low-ride, have to raise lung capacity etc etc. I don't want to play some RPG copy, I want my classic drive and shoot action game please. Also, CJ is the most overrated main character Rockstar created, Tommy was much more entertaining.

Easily San Andreas. The setting, map and sandbox are just so fun. The sheer scale and variety is amazing. It still impresses me to this day.

If I had to pick a runner up, it would be Vice City. I'm a huge sucker for '80s stuff.

I wish they made a sequel to that game.
