Talking about GTA specifically but yeah I agree, every other rockstar game i've played has been better then gta 5. I still like gta 5 though it's not a terrible game by any means just overrated.
I want them to make more games like bully and the first red dead, but the golems had to affirm their low effort slop output these last few years
Bully is nostalgic gem, love that game to death. RDR 1 and 2 are rockstar at their best. Also like LA NOIRE, never played any of the max payne games though still need to get around to that. I know the first 2 were developed by Remedy though.

The first 2 max paynes are honestly masterpieces which were made by Remedy, but the third one (made by rockstar) was lackluster in my opinion (the fucking drunk stumbling effect drives me insane)

GTA 5 is too heavy to begin with. I just play retro games most of the time. Or some older titles of big franchises

A lot of the levels felt very unfair near the end game for sure, overall when I think back on it I still had a fun time. Maybe it's nostalgia idk, might have to go back and replay them as it's been years like I mentioned before.

It got boring for me so quickly, during free roam.
That never happened with San Andreas. And no, I am not one of those GTA IV jerk offs either. GTA IV is insanely boring.
They emphasized realism and story over everything else.
It was way too serious of a game and completely lacked in the free roam department.

Story mode or online?
GTA San Andreas is still the most fun from a moment to moment gameplay level. I still love GTA IV a lot though personally and find it unique in its approach to realism and story for the franchise above all else.

The fact that it has been re-released like 10 times has tarnished it for me because rockstar just see it as a cash cow. They should've released GTA 6 years ago.

I think in terms of the world and the online it's a lot better but personally I prefer GTA IV.
