Whenever I wageslave next year I want to save up for a gaming laptop. Preferably with an OLED screen. What's the best one in terms of price?

I dunno what's your budget and what are your region availability of parts. There is also a question if you want it to have brand new parts or used. Some used parts like gpu may still have warranty when you buy it from someone else.
I really don't want to spend $2k + on anything. I'm not that invested in modern gaming.
if you're not concerned with moving more stuff if you move out of your current place, then get a PC, it's better overall especially since you rot at home most of the time. Laptops are less durable especially under heat, their battery degrade over time so one day you will have to use it like a PC basically, always connected to power.

What do you want to play? Do you want to emulate older consoles? If not then you may as well get ultra cheap 2nd hand rx 5700 xt (~$120) + some new 8 core ryzen cpu like 7700X for cheap.

I want to play PS4 tier games in 120fps
Then rx 9700 xt should be max you would need as you could play them at high framerate and 1440p or even 4k or emulate ps4 games on pc. 2nd hand RTX 4070 super/ti super is cheaper but also less powerful so it could struggle unless you play all of them at 1080p. There is also option to buy older AMD gpu like rx 7900 xt

I built a custom PC with a 3090 (high end card) for less than $900, it’s doable if you find the parts online or just get everything separately and put it together yourself.
3090 uses too much wattage he will pay hefty electricity bill and would need like 850w psu
You know, that sounds expensive. I don't want to get nagged by my family for using too much wats.
There is option to undervolt but i dunno if you would be interested in doing that. And it would lower performance of that gpu by 5-10%.
I think I'll just get some form of PC handheld that uses less electricity. I don't really care about playing modern games. I just want to play PS4/Xbox one games with free online.

Used most powerful gpus doesn't always mean they are a best deal. FSR4 is great and can be used in many ps4 ported games to be not as blurry as old FSR.
You may as well do that but don't expect to have 120fps as Handhelds are pretty much laptops but with even worse hardware as they can't cool down them as efficiently.
I see a lot of laptops are with garbage intel cpus instead AMD. What a scam
60fps is ok. Most of them can achieve that. It'll be an upgrade from my Xbox one which runs most games at 30.
The only Nvidia GPU + AMD CPU laptop with OLED i have found. They are really expensive. Xbox one is really dated so yeah anything would be better than that even my old pc.
