Are gaming laptops better than building your own desktop PC currently?

You can get a gaming laptop with a 240hz OLED screen and a 5080 + a core ultra 275HX or the Ryzen equivalent for under or around 3000$.

On the contrary if you want to build a desktop PC with the same specs it is going to cost you atleast 1000$ more. It just seems to me that buying a gaming laptop is better than building your own PC.

Even prebuilts are better than self-constructed PCs currently.

Is there even a way to construct a PC capable of running copes at high frame rates for a reasonable price?

Also gaming laptops usually drain the battery so fast that you have to keep them plugged in on power all the time, which is not really different than from a PC. Laptop is only really worth it if you travel a lot

Yes, but any decent GPU has inflated in price massively. The price to performance is comparable.

I was planning on building a new PC, but 32 GB DDR5 RAM costs $700, so I guess I’ll continue to stick with DDR4.

Laptops dont last as long and has heating issues, depends what you play I guess
