Is OLED display worth it? I've heard it makes a difference but don't know if it's really worth that much extra money. I would appreciate input from current OLED users.
I've heard the difference is like between high and ultra settings. But yeah I'm worried about the burn-ins, although I've heard that in newer displays that is not happening often.Chat gpt said this:
OLED is worth it if you care about image quality and smooth motion. You get perfect blacks, insane contrast, vibrant colors, near-instant response times, and very low input lag — games look and feel noticeably better. Downsides are higher price, possible burn-in with lots of static HUDs, and lower brightness than some LCDs in bright rooms.
Buy OLED if: you want the best visuals/immersion and play story or cinematic games.
Skip OLED if: you’re on a budget, game in a very bright room, or play long sessions with static UI (MMOs, RTS, etc.).
Not mandatory — but definitely premium.
if you can afford it, yesIs OLED display worth it?
if you can afford it, yes
It is too small...Play on your phone screen.
I'm saving for itif you can afford it, yes
if you will have to save up money for a long time just so you can afford OLED monitor then don't, just ger 144Hz IPS. OLED is for dudes who have enough money so OLED monitor for them is like going out to buy burger in fast food. OLED is great, just expensive.I'm saving for it![]()
Just for a few months. Gaming is my main cope and I like doing it brocel...Is it better to buy 1440p 240hz ips maybe ultra wide or save for 1440p OLED?if you will have to save up money for a long time just so you can afford OLED monitor then don't, just ger 144Hz IPS. if only few month, then it's ok. The difference is clearly visible if you had IPS display in your smartphone and OLED one later.Just for a few months. Gaming is my main cope and I like doing it brocel...Is it better to buy 1440p 240hz ips maybe ultra wide or save for 1440p OLED?
And what is your experience with burn ins?if only few month, then it's ok. The difference is clearly visible if you had IPS display in your smartphone and OLED one later.
I never had one on any of smartphones with OLED. I guess on PC you will have to make sure you don't use max brightness and make Windows taskbar disappear so that you don't have UI elements constantly displayed in one place. And what is your experience with burn ins?
mine gets pretty bright once I enabled HDRChat gpt said this:

I can't stand IPS because black = grayJust for a few months. Gaming is my main cope and I like doing it brocel...Is it better to buy 1440p 240hz ips maybe ultra wide or save for 1440p OLED?
TN is even worse, i had TN and it makes most colors look even more desaturated and pale than IPS, veiwing angles are shit too. But yeah, OLED is clearly superior to all LCDsI can't stand IPS because black = gray
would rather use TN and im dedsrs

I appreciate your inputOLED is unquestionably better for gaming. Near zero delay, clear images with less ghosting. It's noticeable as soon as you try one.
Worth it? Probably not, even with prices slowly dropping. OLED is still ~3x more expensive than comparative LCDs. I only have mine because I have nothing else to spend money on.
Burn-in worries are effectively over past the earliest OLEDs from like the 2010s. Unless you're really reckless running a static screen for many hours.
I will buy 1440p display, I feel like 4k is too much for 9070 XT.Yes.
My 2023 LG OLED 4k tv still mogs even in current year.
