1997 was the only berserk anime worth watching at the time I was into anime. I watched the movies too but pacing was terrible obviously, and 2016 tv show was trash to me so I dropped it.

I read some of the manga and it was pretty brutal. Even if you aren't into mangas you will probably enjoy it.
