I can't even begin to count the amount of times from my late teens to late twenties/early 30's that I was mistaken for a child/kid or pubescent. I did recognize that I have a very young face (low masculinity, no facial hair, weak structure, large eyes, small chin), and my 5ft9 height and my slim build at the time (59-67kg) probably contributed to people thinking that I'm still growing (because 5ft11 and 77kg is average for grown white British males), but all the times it was just frustrating and annoying. I didn't fill out until very late.
I remember on my 19th birthday, I went out to eat with my family and the host at the restaurant handed me a kids' menu. Not that I don't enjoy the food on the kids' menu (dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets), but I noticed that it read "Available for Guests 14 and under."
I also remember being challenged by a foid when I was buying lighter fluid at the age of 29. It was rudeness that made my blood boil more than anything. She said "ermm... I can't let you have that unless you show i.d" in a loud voice so that others forming the queue could hear her. Years of this maltretment and blatant lookism only contributed to destroying my already low sense of genetic self worth even further. I'm really surprised I didn't go onto kill.
