We're forced to develop a good personality, because nothing is handed to us on a sliver platter due to our looks. It's really the only way for us to make it in society.

Now, if we suddenly found a way to ascend hard and make ourselves into male models, then we would legit have found a cheat code to play life on godmode. Imagine being a chad but also having that personality that you had to develop because you were ugly.
