Serious Average height of US college students?

I've never been to the US. I've been watching these college prank videos of BigDawsTV, StevenSchapiro, TheDailyDropout and ThatWasEpic and it looks like most of the guys there are 6'1-6'6. Is it true or do they only choose tall guys to be in their videos? If it was true, it would be the ultimate suicidefuel.

kids are getting taller back then, 5' 10" was normal when my peers went off to college. ofc I didn't but that's another story for another day.

5 foot 10.5-11 is probably the real average height. People who claim the average height is well over 6 foot are probably guilty of sampling bias.
