If by 'Americans' you mean the ethnically British people who founded the USA then yes.
However that is not what you mean, you mean people from the USA, or at least those who are accepted culturally as White.
They also aren't White, they are mixed. America is a mongrel zone. America is everything from Alaska to the Falklands.
'White Americans' have southern European, eastern European, Red Indian, Mexican, Jewish and Black blood. And not uncommonly something else as well. Could be anything with the volume and range of immigration they've had. As a group obviously, people whose parents immigrated from Denmark or something just haven't got mixed yet, but of the ones who have ancestors going back further, the chance of having all 100% White ancestors is not a lot. Even in the days when it was still British colonies people were writing articles complaining about racemixing lol.

Maybe we're going to have to update the 56% meme as it's too optimistic lol. The amount of young females in the USA that are White and don't have interracial relationships or children must be getting frighteningly low.

White is an American term so they are whatever they think they are. Ethnicity matters more than race and from an European perspective all Americans are mutts. Europe is starting to muttify too but the US is 200 years ahead of us.
If you're ancestry is European, non-gypsy or non-jewish, then yes

American is not an ethnicity (it might become one in 100-200 years). They're majority White, by the numbers, but American doesn't mean "White."

I consider founding stock Americans to be a distinct yankee ethnicity similar to Boers in South Africa. Ellis Islanders (most white Americans) on the other hand are just a mishmash of European ethnicities who have been assimilated.
It does or at least did. The first ever immigration law that was passed explicitly stated that naturalization was limited to "free white persons".
