I see it in movies like saying shit like "I'm Italian" just because their great grandfather came from Italy and they eat pasta on Sundays
Or wearing those cringe shirts with nationality stereotypes or hanging the flag of their ancestors in their wall.
Do they really do that in real life or is it played for laughs? I've seen this behavior of obsessing/bragging over ancestry unironically in LATAM (mainly the Southern cone) so want to see if it's the same in the US.
