I used to play D&D, Vampires and Call of Chtulhu as a teen, but that was always with my mates.
These days I was looking for this same topic (I wanted to play either some classic rpg or some Warhammer 40K alone) and I found some resources. I even tried to play some Space Hulk alone, but got quickly bored after a few matches.
I am currently considering buying a solo-friendly tabletop bordgame like Fallout and give it a try.
You might also give a shot to gamebooks, I used to read lots of them as a kid, and Steve Jackson (the author of GURPS) is one of the most famous authors.
