They probably would. They added a BLM banner for a few days to virtue signal, which is a red flag. RGE's Discord community got taken down because people were posting offensive shit (not sure if any of it was actually illegal; if it was, then fair enough I guess).

If we want security, we can go for Tox or Wire, but sadly there's a big difference between a community with many custom channels and a single group chat. Tox doesn't even fully support group chats.

There are some actual Discord-like alternatives but I haven't tried any of them because I haven't been invited to any communities there yet.
