Anyone ever used psychiatry as a form of legal self-harm? (NOT talking overdoses or suicide attempts)

E.g. checking into a mental hospital or going on a drug even though you know it is a bad idea?

(disclaimer: this post is not a shout out for help, Im doing fine)
 
Depends, I bought a shit load of different "mood stabilizers" from some russian site hoping they would cure me of being the way I am, but they did not I still have raging anxiety and depressive episodes. Although through experimentation I have found Seroquel to be very useful for insomnia in low doses.
