I just got done watching Parasite and reality just kicked in.

Unrelated to the actual movie, but, I've seen countless movies where I get this huge bout of depression after the movie is finished because I realize that I will never live such a life related to the characters. They're lives are full of adventure, love, trials and tribulations, etc. I see that and I compare that to my life which is dull, loveless, monotone, lonely, and I fall into this huge despair.

I thought watching movies and shows would be a good cope, but it's just extreme suifuel for me.

brutal escapism pill

I got this with video games more so, sometimes long shows as well but I rarely get invested in movies like that

I get it after shows and games. Still a good cope because I can escape my reality for a while.

Yes this happens alot

People started writing stories because lives of ordinary men are plain, boring and lack any excitement, it's been the case for the trillions of people that lived there and most adventures are short lived and you would die in a combat anyway not achieving anything in life (just like us). Reality sucks that's for sure that's why all of us are looking for escapism.

Every time I watch anything from the 90s and early 00s, when I was a teen.

Always makes me imagine what could have been and what I missed...

After any form of escapism I do. Once I stop coonsuming whatever it is i realize my mundane life

Not usually for movies but for games but with the guardians of the galaxy first movie I was sad it ended it really hit the spot for me for nostalgia and good feels and friendship and shit

And Spiderman 3 with toby dude was really good and I felt sad after because the green Goblin died and sandman never got to reconcile with his family and shit

It doesn't happen with movies but it does with really good TV shows.

I remember I was depressed after finishing the walking dead because you kinda develop a personal connection with the character after like 11 seasons

I just watched project X yesterday and I feel like that. Seeing how amazing that party looked and all of the beautiful foids is suicidefuel

Hedonistic treadmill pill is brutal

Finch was pretty depressing

That's why I don't watch movies these days

i get this too It makes me sad as hell that we won’t ever get that good life like the main characters They’re mainly just copes

Used to be like this with tv shows and anime
Maybe games too

Movies not really theyre too short for me to get attached to the characters tbh but i get what you mean the “post show” depression fucking hits you hard after watching a very good anime or tv show and you’re so hooked on so you just go and get into subreddits about the show or whatever but yeah i always get this after watching a show and i would just sit there in front of the screen or i would just walk around in my room just wondering like what now?

Very relatable but I only ever experience that after I binge an engrossing series or a meaningful film that has a longer runtime (like The Batman starring Pattinson)
