Do enough to keep pace with co workers unless your getting paid more and are told to do more. Don't over perform as most companies are ran by retards and punish hard workers with more work with very little salary raises. Main way of increasing salary is jumping 2-4 years to a new company. Ofc the higher position you are, the longer your expected to stay but that isn't an issue until your like 5-10+ years in the workforce.Any tips on how to survive the STEM work world? @Transcended Trucel @PPEcel @Mainländer
True avoid politics/religion/any topics which are controversial.Never worked with STEM, but speaking in general, hide your power level at all costs, avoid unnecessary drama/conflict/bullshit, hold your ground if someone tries to screw you up and remember that the people there are not your friends.
This too. Only time to ever do unnecessary shit is to test said person if they will give you a favor back. Less than 1/2 people probably reciprocate in my experience maybe <1/3 even. But those who do might be worth investing in for job references later.This.
Only do the minimum work possible that you feel is good for the paycheck you're getting.
Don't do unnecessary shit for coworkers.

Don't try to have any ideas on your own. Regardless of what the propaganda may be about "valuing innovation", it is never true.Any tips on how to survive the STEM work world?
True innovation is often punished, one should only really do that if they are very high up on the scale(10+ yrs xp probably or in a small business with many shares)Don't try to have any ideas on your own. Regardless of what the propaganda may be about "valuing innovation", it is never true.
Just do what you are told to do. Try to figure out what your bosses really want (it is not always what they say they want) and just do that.
