I'm genuinely curious since I've been working minimum wage for a year and a few months I wanna see if I'm really missing out on "uni"

I dropped. Most of them modern slaves are going to be replaced by AI anyways.

If you live in America it's most definitely worth it for most degrees. Just don't be a turbo retard and pick the most mega useless degrees out there and you'll be good. And ik some professions require good schools like being an attorney. Avoid those if you are not VERY serious and motivated. Go to a community college for things that don't care about your school (like maybe engineering), and finish there. Don't believe retards telling you that you need 100k in debt for college. You don't. And even if you did, if you finished in time and got employed it would still pay off. I unfortunately don't live in the USA, and in my country it's hard to get employment no matter what education you have, yet when I compare the stats of : average pay, % of people that find a job in their field etc. It's HUGE, YET STILL even in my dipshit country, it's STILL worth it. In America the difference is 10 fold. Also the benefit is that you can get your parents to pay for your shit if you are middle class. And you've seen how horrid minimum wage is so I don't have to explain. I study Mechanical engineering btw and am last year of the Bachelor degree.

I have a degree in African feminist interpretative dance and it was worth every last penny

And be smart about sourcing info, don't just flat out believe me. See what are the average pays, average rate of employment, type of jobs etc.

The ones to get replaced are the ones that don't have degrees...
Not really. It's hard to be replaced when you do a manual work. Tertiary job however...

Manual labor is really not something worth striving for. And the level of education rises with the advance of technology. Yes a lot of secretaries lost their job with the invention of Excel, and many jobs will be lost with AI. But AI is sooner to replace a manual worker than an engineer, doctor or a lawyer. It's just a more complicated tool that will be used. The only way someone is advising manual labor is if they never did it. I did and would rather be unemployed than work those piece of shit jobs

I'm an engineer with a Master's degree. Looking back, not really worth it.
:no:As an incel, uni is kinda brutal.
:no:As a manlet I can't get a high position, no matter how good I am.
:no:My brother-in-law is a factory worker with no degree, yet earns almost as much as me.
:no:I have nothing (especially nobody) to spend money on, so that minimum wage would actually be good enough tbh.
:yes:But at least my job is fine:
I guess I found the perfect cushy job: 39 hours per week with flexible schedule, paid above average, working alone (no coworkers, no customers), kind boss, not much to do, easy tasks, no deadlines or any other sources of stress, allowed to work remotely up to 2 days a week, workplace not too far.

Man I have an engineering degree from a renowned university and it was NOT worth the time and money.
Job market is sooo shit that many of my classmates work as interns for many many years. Most of them got let go within 2yrs as that is when you can apply to become a professional engineer.

Very few of my classmates are still doing degree relevant work. Unless it's some degree/field you're really passionate about, I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm a third-worlder; where I intern, AI already does a lot of the work -- the only reason they're not laying off people is because they're a government company. I'm generally skeptical of STEM degrees.

I'm in the same position the minium wage gets used on bills food and maybe a couple of other things so your living better then me I'd persume

I spent 5 years in uni and I've been neeting for nearly two years since because the job market is so broken that even entry-level jobs don't want me

What degree

Degree is only worth if you pick something actually good such as engineering, cs, etc. But you have to be smart, if you are smart its a good pathway.

Nowadays average is not cutting it for many fields. You need good GPA, extracurricular stuff, projects, etc.

If you are good then it’s easy to get job offers. But if you are avg or below it can be horrid.

Literally a parallel of the dating market. Top 20% get most of the offers, bottom 80% get scraps / nothing.

If you think you can be in the top 20% then it can be worth it. But that can be very field dependent. Research what field you are trying to get into to get a better idea of what it takes to actually be successful.

Unlikely since lookism still applies.
Since most users here aren’t actually ugly, the looks won’t be the biggest issue.

You need to be actual truecel tier for it to be the biggest barrier.

But heightism strikes hard.

Looks/height really depends on the industry. Something like finance it’s gonna matter much much more than tech for example.

The purpose of college is to achieve higher status, not just for the money.

More status = more chances of attracting women.

LMS

A professor, a scientist, or a professional artist has better chances than a McDonald's employee.

Have a degree, was worth it but unsure if it will be worth it in a few years due to AI
