Rising standards of living compared to the slave like conditions under the imperialists, rising literacy, improving health care, decolonisation of the 3rd world using Soviet/Sino weapons etc.

But as I said I am just hearing this stuff now, well at least from the angle of the socialists themselves. And curious if there any cels here who can kind of explain what life was like those days under the imperialists and stuff, just curious now

Marxism doesn't magically make food disappear. Most Marxist countries never had debilitating famines. But the revolution happened in backwards countries at first, where they didn't have fertiliser and mechanished agriculture, as well as a security apparatus capable of holding people outside the cities accountable.

Pakistan and Bangladesh used to be the same country, which is fucking crazy because they're split in the middle by all of fucking India.

The "West" Pakistanis thought they were closer to Arab and thus superior to "East Pakistanis" aka Bangladeshis. They held power, and when a political party from "East Pakistan" won, they decided to invade their own country rather than give up power.

The Pakistanis created rape camps where they tried to rape the Bengali out of the locals with the idea that half Pakistani rapemutts would be better Muslims since Pakistanis are closer to Arab.
