I would like to read a thought-provoking book, and I figured here would be the best place to ask, seeing as all the redditors recommend cringe coping books like “the courage to be disliked”

I would prefer it to be non-fiction, any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you ill check it out. I’m not necessarily looking for some brutal black pills. Rather just an author who fundamentally agrees on life. Reading some other books is just annoying because they promote ideas like the just world falacy and universal good and evil. It’s hard to respect a man’s views on anything if you disagree with the entire foundation of their beleifs

I hated the book in the bible Job for its just world fallacy. i really found it unconvincing, because the world clearly is not just. the righteous are punished.

but yea i mean im more into ancient philosophy for the simplicity of it, i find phaedo a rly compelling read but read Apology first so you understand the plot.
