No matter how much alcohol I drink, or how much I convince myself that I don't care what people think of me, the horrible feeling I get when I try to speak will never leave me. The years of being treated like flith led me to believe that everything i am going to say will fail in a public setting and it will just make things worse. These people have turned me into a mute.

Same. Parents at home and kids at school had mentally damaged me for life in childhood and teen years. Twenty years later, my parents are dead and I haven't seen anyone from school, yet I still struggle with anxiety, low self esteem, depression, etc, same and worse as back then.
