Which anime do you recommend to watch, in my life i only watched dragon ball and every pokemon series. Any recomendations and sites to watch anime for free?

Everyone says Death Note is a good starting anime. It's okay, apart from S2 which I felt was ass.

What would you say you're looking for in anime I've watched a lot so I think I could help if you could be more specific

Attack on Titan

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Erased
Attack on titan(preferably if you don't know anything about it)
Deathnote
Parasyte
Tokyo Ghoul
Berserk(After you watched atleast 10 anime and it has to be the 1997 version)
Promised Neverland(just has a bad season s1 is peak tho)
Monster(Really slow burn but it'll stick with you for sure)
Summer time rendering
These are pretty basic but what i was really asking is what type of anime are you looking for like the genre. And I watch anime rn on aniwave

Tokyo Ghoul made me heavily immersed into anime. It's not the best adaptation (manga is infinitely better) but there are some elements which still made it enjoyable. The fights, characters and animation are all an A from me.

Oregairu
Hyouka (isnt really but a nice slow burn)

Kokoro connect

Comedy anime
Prison school

Hell no. Death Note is great, but you have to be a particular kind of person to enjoy it.

It's nothing esoteric or something that has a niche appeal, honestly.

I started with Death Note back when I was 12 (I'm 19 now) and it stuck with me and I still reference and talk about it online to this day

Death Note is a terrible representation of anime as a whole. It's no wonder that anime fans are all troons, faggots and waifufags given that Death Note remains a touted "beginner" anime to this day. Be honest to yourselves:

1. Death Note is not one of your absolute favourite anime or manga series. Even if it's in your top 10, it's not top 5, let alone top 3.

2. You have not seen Death Note more than once or twice.

3. You can not name a single thing you like about Death Note's actual story. It is all memes and weeb cultural touchstones for you.

Death Note is no doubt a popular series. But its actual story remains niche. People watch it because of the memes, the character designs and the music. A very few like it as a power fantasy, or a battle of wits, but they don't like anything more about it than that.

Death Note having none of these three things

No one cares nigga lol. It's enjoyable, fast-paced and shorter than the big shonen titles, and that's all which matters. And pop culture appeal matters for most people unless you're some stonecold giga hermit and Death Note is easily one of the most referenced anime and will likely remain so in future.

If you say so.

For people who don't care for the character designs, music, power fantasy or battle of wits the story is a tough sell.

Pop culture appeal is a perfectly fine and good thing. I'm not denying that in any way, my point is just that Death Note is not a good representation of what anime is as a whole. It is popular, but like I said before: very few people have it as their absolute favourite series, or something they think about a lot.

Let me put it like this: Death Note is the Star Wars of anime. Star Wars is hugely popular, memed and part of the cultural canon but it is not representative of the Sci-Fi genre as a whole in any way. Star Wars is more like a fantasy, essentially its own thing. Likewise, very few people in the world care about its story in depth, or have it as one of their absolute favourite movie series. There are so many people who completely dismiss all of Sci-Fi simply because Star Wars is all they've ever seen, and I imagine that to be the case for Death Note and anime too.

Death Note is quite simply not a good litmus test for if you will like most anime or not. It's even worse for those who do end up liking it, because there aren't many other series like Death Note out there.
