I always saw it mentioned on r9k years back and thought it overrated when I finally watched it, good film but others have had more of an impact.

Yeah he was unstable and basically a schizoid but not blackpilled at all.
I agree but it served as foundation for films like joker so I appreciate it.
There's a limit at how blackpilled a movie can be, after all they are made for normie audiences.

I watched until the 45 min mark I think before turning it off.
If nothing happens and the plot doesn't thicken after 40 mins then it's not a movie.
It's okay for it to be alot of setup for 40 min but then it has to be some 'deep stuff' ready to be unraveled very shortly after.
There is another movie that have high ratings that is called 'the man from earth (2007)'. I saw that movie long before I watched taxi driver and in that movie i turned it off after 50 min. They were in a room talking for 50 mins. Like litterly 50 min in a room with like no other scenery.
Taxi driver reminded me somewhat of that movie.

Taxi Driver is the best depiction of a lonely, mentally ill man. After Taxi Driver came out, there were several imitators, but nothing can match up.
Same, that's why I want to rewatch it, but no streaming plattform has it

You know whats an even worst film but got incredibly high ratings? Mad Max fury road (2015).
I swear to fuckin god I told myself in the middle of the film, if another scene comes up of them driving around in the desert leaping across vehicles, I'm fuckin turning this shit off and hitting the punching bag.
It doesn't get any more mindless then watching a movie with fast moving cars and people jumping out of it. Thats like every single fuckin action movie out there.
If you wanna watch a movie with substance and thought, watch something else.
I only watched that movie because of the hype around it. I was right, any movie that is highly rated means that normies and retards like it. Meaning the movie likely involves what any other action movie involve. Jumping and leaping from buildings or cars.
