Accusation of Projection
Goal: To make you believe your mind works completely differently
Example: "You dislike them? I bet you secretly do!"
Description: Projection is used to deflect criticism of people and things
by making the target doubt how their mind actually feels about it.
Accusation of Extremism
Goal: To make you believe your beliefs are dangerous
Example: "Don't you think you're taking this a little bit too far?
You sound like the KKK!"
Description: Extremism is conflated with terrorism and
shootings, so people subconsciously believe it to be evil.
So when someone is accused of Extremism, they are
effectively being told that they will one day do a
villainous act.
Accusation of Mental Instability
Goal: To make you believe you're not rational
Example: "You need help, go visit a therapist."
Description: One of the most common forms of gaslighting,
Mental Instability used on a target to make them doubt
their own sanity, to make them think that their beliefs
are the result of an irrational mind.
Accusation of Inexperienced
Goal: To make you believe you're unqualified to have an opinion
Example: "You can't critique him when you've never made art yourself."
Description: Inexperienced is used to make the target feel like
they cannot truly criticize anything unless they went through it.
Accusation of Emasculation
Goal: To make you believe you're lacking masculinity
Example: "Only boys do that, real men do this!"
Description: Only used on males, Emasculation is to
deter certain beliefs and behaviors so the target
will try to live up to their image of a "real man".
Accusation of Hatred
Goal: To make others and you believe you're
Example: "You're so hateful, try being calm for once."
Description: Hatred is seen as irrational and unjust, so it is used
on targets to make them believe that it's an overreaction.
Accusation of False Past
Goal: To make others believe you're an unreliable person
Example: "Bullshit, that never happened!"
Description: False Past is about rebutting the target's experiences
that can't be down- played, being described as unrealistic, delusional
bullshit, fake.
Accusation of Exaggeration
Goal: To make you believe your experiences weren't that bad via downplaying them
Example: "Dude, it isn't a big deal that it happened, it happens to everyone."
Description: The most common form of Exaggeration is downplay via "Everyone goes
through this!". Used to counter the target's arguments by not allowing them to be ones
in the first place.
Accusation of Black Sheep
Goal: To make you conform to the group
Example: "Why aren't you like your brothers? Why can't you cook as well as them?"
Description: Black Sheep is used to lure the target into a sense of obligation of joining
the tribe, they will be compared to everyone else as a standard for how they should
behave.
Accusation of No Future
Goal: To make you change your ways with a false prediction of the future
Example: "If you keep thinking and acting this way, noone will ever love you."
Description: No Future is used in order to get the target to change their
behavior with the fear of never achieving or receiving something.
Accusation of Unworthy
Goal: To make you believe your opinions don't matter
Example: "The popular kid said it's awesome, noone cares about what you think."
Description: Unworthy is purely about belittling the target to the point where
they doubt their worth, thus never speak up. Commonly used on ugly, poor,
friendless, jobless people.
