What do you guys think about the idea of minimalism? Living life with a minimum of impulsive purchases with the idea of saving money and not creating material addictions. Does it work at all or it is nonsense? Sometimes I see the idea of minimalism being propagated as a healthier lifestyle

It works but it's suicidefuel.

I tried to toss as much shit as I could (heard it can burden your mind). You truly get to see how much of our lives are filled with pointless crap and shit we never use.

It really is, to make it more tolerable I think it's healthy to create a version of minimalism where you don't rule out leisure options, such as games, streaming services, sports and other things that might give you pleasure

This is what I did I kept my consoles and TV just made sure to hide my card so i couldn't impulsive buy, it was still pretty brutal but nice to not have to clean so much junk

With this modern economy I will probably follow the same path after college

I have lived minimally the last 15 years, trying to retire from wage slavery soon. Saved and invested most of my income. Kept expenses and rent below 25% of monthly take home. Still enough to buy games or books when I wanted to. Might go somewhere in South America.

It’s a way to flex you need less to be fulfilled it’s no different to someone flexing about a new Tesla they bought with dildo attachment
