For a large part of my life, I had people telling me that philosophy is useless, and in a sense I think it is, since it does not produce material goods like work does, nor does it generate material wealth. However, I believe it is fundamentally important to cultivate philosophy as much as possible, because it is what truly makes you free. This includes studying the philosophy of your own ancestors as well as that of other cultures. I also believe that the most important thing is to develop a critical mindset, in order to analyze and understand it as deeply as possible. What do you think?
