This is the most fucked up, unintentional horror film I've ever seen and I've seen the exorcist. For those unaware, the premise of A Serbian Film involves a pornstar who is forced into twisted scenario's at the discretion of a depraved director. The scenario's become more and more disturbing as the film plays out, which makes the tension as a viewer all the more palatable. Some of the scenes are infamous for outright banning the film in most territories. This film was broadcast at local cinema's as an independent snuff production, under the guise of a typical horror flick. Many viewers at the cinema were reported to be physically sick at the events that had unfolded throughout the course of the film.

I'm usually desensitised to most horror's after a lifetime playing survival horror games but I had fuckin nightmares after this. I was literally pausing throughout to collect my breath as some of the scenes were seriously disturbing. The clip below is just the trailer from youtube. If anythin, it serves as an extreme portrayal of the adult film industry yet is indicative of the abuse of power used to solicit graphic material for the purpose of entertainment :whatfeels: .

I can see that view from the perspective of someone accustomed to this content, but I think many were taken by surprise as it was marketed as a traditional horror flick. It's the 1st 'snuff' film I've seen if you can call it that. I don't think a snuff film of this nature has ever made it to mainstream theatres unless I'm mistaken. I'm no expert in this field of content, so I was shocked and disgusted of the films content.

It honestly features more genuine tension than most mainstream horrors I've seen tbh, which have often flattered to deceive.

A serbian film is really not that bad at all. Watch "A tumbling doll of flesh" or "Philosophy of a knife" instead.

Story is stupid and entire movie is just made for the shock effects.

I have it, in my opinion it's not just a shallow gore fest but a smart critique of modern society.

I love this movie!

Years and years ago, when I was an adolescent, I watched the film. But after all of the hype, I wasn't impressed. All of the gore and porn that I've seen has completely desensitised me.
"A tumbling doll of flesh" or "Philosophy of a knife"
Will definitely check these out.

For me the most disturbing movies are the schizo paranoid ones, gore is disgusting but paranoia is terrifying

Black mirror episodes sacred me more than any "horror" films, Smile (2022) is also a good movie with the schizo element

I've heard about that film, sounds pretty disturbing. Not many horror's scare me tbh, the last 1 that unnerved me somewhat was the 1st Creep film which had a level of tension. I quite like these 'found footage' films, more than the generic scooby doo bullshit. The 2nd film was awful though, not a patch on the 1st. The 1st Hostel was the last horror I watched which relied on shock value but I found the 1st Creep more unsettling.

This is why A Serbian Film was effective on me as a horror because there was genuine tension throughout. As a viewer I felt a sense of dread each time the star of the film was presented with a new scenario, that was more twisted than the last. Most so called 'creepy' horror films have been very underwhelming to me. Films like the The Witch and Hereditary for instance were so fuckin boring to me. A Serbian Film was 10 times more unsettling to me than those films and it's not even a dedicated horror of the genre. I guess horror in itself is a subjective artform, that's why it's my favourite genre because it can be interpreted as the audience see's fit.

Now we're talking. This will keep me coping for the foreseeable future. :feelscomfy:
Don't be fooled, the films in the bottom-most layer aren't the worst, most extreme ones.

grossly over rated imo. people talk about being "desensitized" to gore, violence etc, but if you are a fan of horror it is absolutely necessary in order to truly appreciate the films

As a member of the Ustatse, life fuel!

Degenerate film made by the bourgeoisie clique in order to label sERbia as some cradle of decadence.
IMagine people recognizing your country because of genocide and a fucked up movie.

They were just showing you what all your favorite Hollywood people do on a regular basis. Another movie you should watch is "Eyes Wide Shut" - that gives you a deeper look into how depraved and fucked up the elites are. This whole world has been going to shit in the last century alone.. and technology hasn't done us any favors.

sERbian bourgeoisie are the most autochauvinistic swine to ever walk the Earth.

Some cuckllege professor a few days ago said that he lives in a deeply degenerate society, with small primitive people of weird phenotypes.
He still has a job jfl

So many horrors flatter to deceive. Films that critics hype up as 'terrifying' are as dull as pissin in a bucket. I can't stand generic supernatural horror films like Hereditary or The Conjuring, these type of films are the most commercially successful and are fuckin awful. Even The Shining was trash, how the fuck is that heralded as a classic, even the Tim Burton Batman films were creepier.

Most horrors are built on 'suspense' opposed to being genuinely unnerving. 'Suspense' doesn't do shit for me personally, it doesn't get under my skin.

ye psychological horror can be pretty unsettling if executed well, this is why P.T. for instance was very unsettling. The classic film Jacob's ladder is supposed to be psychological based, not that I've seen it, just heard about it as it was the inspiration for Silent Hill in some respects.

Is there any on UK Netflix or Amazon you would recommend?. Like I said, the 1st Creep was 1 of the few I've enjoyed in a long time. It's not terrifying but I loved the tension so it unsettled me more than most mainstream horrors tbh. I've tried lots and gave up because they did nothin for me. Films like Hush, Conjuring, Hereditary, The Witch, Hostel, Insidious, were all trash to me. This is exactly why horror is subjective, because that list is conventionally designed to scare mainstream members of society.

Personally nothing scares me anymore. Losing my family was already worse than almost any nightmare. So what’s left to be scared of? Maybe torture or pain, but that’s not really something that can be portrayed well in film I would think.

that movie is shit and tries too hard
@Ron.Belgrade you are responsible for this

Feel like this is gonna be another sound of freedom, excruciatingly mid movie carried by taboo

I watched it for that exact reason: it being the inspiration for Silent Hill. It has a very hopeless, unnerving type of atmosphere that builds very nicely to a crescendo. You should definitely check it out.

The remake wasn't as good, but was still decent.

I liked that scene where a foid gets beheaded and the guy is still pumping dick into her. Really sexy scene

you live a life of suffering and torment, and you're horrified by a movie? if anything that happened in A Serbian Film or Human Centipede played out irl I'd start laughing. I will admit it's a pretty shocking film if you're not ready for it. Check out Antichrist by Lars Von Trier if you want an equal parts intelligent and shocking film.

I saw it.
Maim character has a 15 inch dick.
Mogger film

Watched it once thinking it was some average movie and this shot was way more fucked up than i expected

JFL, you must be a soft soycuck or a little immature kid if that movie scared you

Scared isn't really the emotion I felt watching this. It was disgust. This movie is shock horror, what did you expect?

I mean, you're going to get a reaction from anybody when you show them a baby getting raped to death or a woman beheaded and naked and there's what looks like blood everywhere on all surfaces. We are humans and our instinct is to be put into fight-or-flight, because even if we know there is no murderer around, our hind-brain doesn't.

It's the same reason that gore is not shown on television, or the reporter will say 'viewer discretion is advised' before showing that.

Good horror to me is jump scare, scary monster, straight to the point and isn't pretentious. Maybe you like shock horror, but it seriously just grosses me out.

Only ~10-15% of Romanians, Serbs and BulgARYANs are blonde. Are we deserving of the chud status?
by default CHUD is dark haired mang and also dark eyed. The chudjak is not aryan at all.

Salo is another fucked up film.

The scariest movie I'll ever see is the one that is a realistic depiction of incel life.
It would be four boring hours of our incelibate waking up, getting ready for work, going to work, occasionally getting disrespected by women, coming home exhausted and playing video games, then going to bed. At the end he gets super old, looks back on his uneventful life where he never progressed to the promised later stages of life and ropes to black screen.

A Serbian Film is BORING!!!
My favorite horror film is The House that Jack Built.

Cannibal Holocaust is also pretty good

sorry mango I don't like shockcore shit everytime I see a work like this I can't put away the idea of the director rubbing his hand thinking he made it to a whole new level with this edge and it's just cuurrringe mang

there’s a movie pretty close to that, it’s called “I’m Thinking of Ending Things”. It fucking gutted me when I saw it.
