I don't own a PS5 but playstation controllers in general are fucking complicated to connect to the PC.

A co-worker owns a PS5 and he has bought an XBOX Series X controller just to play on his PC.

It is so easy to pair it with any device.

A great alternative for the xbox controllers is the Gamesir G7 SE.
This one has hall effect sticks and hall effect triggers.
Will buy once my current controllers croak on me.

Got that on vinted for 30€ on Vinted. Its great, the sticks feel precise for sharp movement, only thing is that doesn’t feel as premium as the original controller, obv. But mine was working bad and now it’s in a drawer so go for it I don’t regret it.

Comes with a month of Gaypass

Alternatively I would get a high quality xbox series x elite something controller ad replace the standard sticks with hall effect sticks as well as the triggers, if that is possible on those.

Other than them breaking fast, I like the xbox controllers most.
But for me the xbox 360 controllers were peak.
Man, they feel so nice and last ages.

Why do you prefer controller over mouse and keyboard? Will you use it for specific games? I don't know anything about controllers. Just curious.

Yeah, it connects automatically just like an xbox controller, unlike the DS4.

Games are not necessarily shooting at things all the time. I like fps, but gaming for me is soulslikes, immersion, lore, solitude. Competitive gaming is normie slop..

The G7 SE feels more like primarily an xbox controller than a pc controller and I don't own an xbox. Their multiplatform controller line with Super Nova or Cyclone 2 seem more of a fit, which are wireless too. Though at my budget I was eyeing the Nova2lite and only considering dualsense because it's cheaper on black friday sale plus it has adaptive triggers.

Will you use it for specific games?
Yes. Platformers, brawlers, hack slash etc.

Yeah, it connects automatically just like an xbox controller, unlike the DS4.
Do adaptive triggers and haptic feedback work on pc? Do they matter?

Oh, I did not know this. DS4? Did you mean PS4?

I used to use the dualsense very recently until i switched to the dualshock 4, i like it alot but its a little bit too bulky for my hands and the dpad sucks compared to the DS4. newer games will most likely have native support for the dualsense but older games wont unless it just got ported to pc

you'll need a program called ds4 windows to connect to those older games, but you'll probably use it across every game that you play anyways since you can enable stuff like trigger effects and can remap buttons(like switching R2 with R1)

I'd just get a PC controller. There's a bunch of $20 Hall effect ones available now.

Farting around with DS4Windows and shit gets old, and the quality of first-party controllers isn't any better. Try using them as little as possible, only for your console.

Is it worth just for the trigger effects?

Ds4 is a application u download on your pc that helps you connect and map ps controllers to your pc. Though im sure you can just use a usb cable to connect it to the pc and it’ll work

They don't. I even disable them on the PS5 lmao, they're annoying af.

I have a PS5, and I use the dual sense occasionally with my PC. It's easy, and you can connect with Bluetooth. But I prefer my dual shock 4, because there's more default support for it in older titles. It's way more better to use than 3rd party controllers as a general plug and play. Anyone telling you it's complicated is legitimately stupid. How they don't know how to plug in a USB cable is astounding.

Only an issue when games don't support controllers at all. Steam input fixes the issue entirely. Hell, just plugging in the controller still makes it work from my experience. It just gets recognized as a generic controller with an Xbox layout in game. And if you're having issues, you can use steam community layouts or 3rd party programs. I honestly find 3rd party controllers more problematic in this aspect.
