A Maximum Age of Consent Makes More Sense Than an Age of Consent That Prohibits Teen Love

A maximum age of consent is more reasonable than an age of consent that prohibits teen love because teen women are one of the least likely to produce a child with down syndrome. Source:

Yeah based on this picture, teen pregnancy is about as "healthy" as a 30 year old pregnancy. It does show though that teen pregnancy is "harmless."

I put those words in quotes because I don't really think down syndrome is bad. Some countries have completely exterminated down syndrome people with down syndrome. If down syndrome is so bad, normalizing women having children when they're young adults and perhaps even when they're teens is obviously better - it's harmless after all. It's better because abortion is bad.

What I actually think is that we should have so many kids that we naturally have a lot of down syndrome people.

The modern age has made it very difficult to marry (or have kids) young. Not only is it very costly but the social norms have also made it difficult bcs leftists will keep raising the age of consent bcs "their brains aren't fully developed" even though maturity is not directly linked to brain development.
If they keep raising the age of consent we will see more and more people mature at later ages and thus have a less mature society as a whole.

I don't think parenthood is inherently costly. Also I feel like if someone's going to increase the age of consent it's going to be conservatives for the sake of consistency. I've seen a conservative say the voting age should be increased to 25. It's consistent because they want to help their own party win. Young people are more likely to vote Democrat, so they need to be prevented from voting.

Meanwhile I saw a Democrat call for reducing the voting age to 12. Source:

Of course, I can't say she'd be consistent. She probably just said that to support her own party.

Yeah I mean people probably aren't going to be consistent. I know Republicans were defending teen marriage time ago because it would mean those born to teens would be fatherless if teen marriage were prohibited.

I don't really think the age of consent has much to do with the birth rate, though it's possible. The problem might be the culture and perhaps other policies.

I don't really think the age of consent is going to be raised beyond 18, though I guess it's possible.
