Can someone explain why the catalog's contents are regularly a reflection of what I am experiencing, thinking, or doing at present, or have done/thought in recent days?

I think it's an algorithmic feed based on your previous 4chan browsing habits and comments. The catalog looks different for every user.

I think I'm being targeted. Irl, randos are approaching me and tell me their life story. Really crazy shit they unload on me - always out of the blue and I am like Jesus and console them. But then conversation drifts to whatever shit posting happened the day before and they try to shit post me in real life. WTF IS THIS

one time it was a crazy sons of angels biker who told me a crazy story about a black he gunned down in much detail randomly in a parking lot. I don't know what he was looking for but he hated niggers and I tried to be moderate with him. I looked up in the news later and he had all the details perfect to a local killing. No less than 3 of my co-workers have gone fully crazy on things in the catalog which I posted in - I think people sense my power level and want to unload. Maybe it is wrong to fight the tide.
