Don't I just have to believe in God to go to heaven?
Yes and No.

Well the bible says numerous times that you need "X" to go to heaven, people read that scripture and think "so I only have to do X and I am saved".

But then they are forgetting about the other verses, such as John 3:3 -
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

With born again meaning both born of the water, and of the spirit. In John 3:5 -
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

But what about the scriptures saying I just need to have faith and believe?
There is famous verse about believing in God alone is enough to save you:
John 3:16 - “Whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

...But what truely makes you a believer? Anyone can say "I believe in Jesus" and think that too, but in their heart they are no different from any other man. That's why we need to receive the holy spirit so that we can be edified and gain the understanding that we naturally cannot have in the human flesh without the Lord.

What is Speaking in Tongues?
It is God's language, when people speak out in tongues it sounds different to each persons, as not one is identical. Man will not know what he says, as he speaks to the Lord and not to men:

1 Corinthians 14:2 - “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him…”

What should baptism involve?
It says that we need to be baptised by "full emersion" of the water (completely under the water, in which catholics take as christening - which is not full emersion).
1776987208750

Baptism has also always been by full emersion ever since John the Baptist baptised the tribes. The woke version "christening" is not mentioned in the bible.

Extra:
Which bible should I read?
Read KJV, other books such as the NIV simplifies it too much and disregards context for understanding - which just contradicts itself.

Feeling like shit rn. WIll read later king.

I am asking this question to see how you reason and to make sense of what you exactly believe in

so according to you, is baptism by full emersion of the water evidence of faith, or does that lead to the faith in order to be saved?
Well both baptism and speaking in tongues signifies faith - but the main evidence of faith is when you receive the Holy Spirit - with evidence of speaking in tongues.

so its a sign of faith but not a requirement to be saved according to you? More like something a believer would do since it's easy + a good deed?

We should start teaching folks about being in the world but not from the world

100% you beat me to it. That's my post for tomorrow

God says that we can be in the world, but not of the world.
- and in the world, is where we spread the Gospel.

A very good post .

The main thing I would really say as far as being saved is coming to terms that you are a sinner and need salvation.

The next is that Jesus is the only salvation and you cannot save yourself but only the blood shed by Christ on the cross can remove sin.

Also to confess that Jesus is Lord and rose from the dead. See Romans 10:9

Once once you have been Born again by accepting Christ as your Savior then I would say get baptized with water and also try to get baptized by the Holy Spirit with hands laid on you . You do not have to do these things only faith in Jesus saves us but both baptism of water and of the holy Spirit will greatly improve your life and gives healing .

Indeed belief in God is not enough , we must know that God exists in three persons YHVH the Father, Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit. We must also know that we are sinners and we need Jesus personally!

By every metric every whore, chad, millionaire, billionaire, psychopathic CEO, karens and middle managers are going to hell

I just dont want to be in the same shit hole as those fuckers

good read

If God was real, incels wouldn't exist, babies wouldn't be raped and killed, gore sites with such horrible torture vids wouldn't exist as I see man punish another man worse than the devil himself can imagine

Acts 16:31 Believe on the lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. And your house.

Incel brother, DM me if you have any other questions, there are LOTS of false teachings out there.

If Satan did not exist, none of that would be happening.

God is letting Satan roam free for a short time before the rapture, corrupting humanity before he gets thrown into a bottomless pit for 1000 years.

Good, insightful post.

If you believe in the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ then you are saved. Its knowing that its through the blood of Jesus that past, present and future sins are forgiven. Attaining heaven and eternal life is NOT something that is earned, it is something God has graciously gifted us for believing what his son did for us on the cross. The world may not like this, they may even hate it. But it doesn’t matter what the world thinks. What matters is your relationship with God and his son.

In my opinion, the King James Version is way too far complex, especially if you're a new believer. I think the NASB 1995 is quite literally the GOAT. It is very accurate to the original translation, but it's super informative. So I think the NASB mogs.

True, and I understand where you are coming from
Although at the end of the day, God wrote only one bible. And other "interpretations" have added to or subtracted from the original world (found in KJV).

If you are looking for a new read, I recommend this:
