Yes and No.Don't I just have to believe in God to go to heaven?
Well the bible says numerous times that you need "X" to go to heaven, people read that scripture and think "so I only have to do X and I am saved".
But then they are forgetting about the other verses, such as John 3:3 -
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
With born again meaning both born of the water, and of the spirit. In John 3:5 -
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
There is famous verse about believing in God alone is enough to save you:But what about the scriptures saying I just need to have faith and believe?
John 3:16 - “Whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
...But what truely makes you a believer? Anyone can say "I believe in Jesus" and think that too, but in their heart they are no different from any other man. That's why we need to receive the holy spirit so that we can be edified and gain the understanding that we naturally cannot have in the human flesh without the Lord.
It is God's language, when people speak out in tongues it sounds different to each persons, as not one is identical. Man will not know what he says, as he speaks to the Lord and not to men:What is Speaking in Tongues?
1 Corinthians 14:2 - “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him…”
It says that we need to be baptised by "full emersion" of the water (completely under the water, in which catholics take as christening - which is not full emersion). What should baptism involve?
Baptism has also always been by full emersion ever since John the Baptist baptised the tribes. The woke version "christening" is not mentioned in the bible.
Extra:
Read KJV, other books such as the NIV simplifies it too much and disregards context for understanding - which just contradicts itself.Which bible should I read?
