I have not done "cold approaches" because of the fact that could easily be turned into a "sexual harassment" allegation, which could lead to catastrophic outcomes.

However, I have tried asking people I knew moderately well first to lessen the chance of rejection which could easily be around 20 or so.

It all came down to the fact that they felt that I was too mentally-unstable to be considered a suitable partner.

To be fair, a lot of the people I asked tried to be nice about it as they were sympathetic but others basically got creeped out immediately and basically said never to talk to them again.
