Very true. I can only speak from a West-African perspective, but we're very traditional. It's a very stark contrast between an African household and an American one. When my father would come home from work, zero nagging, zero complaining, no "fix it yourself", "cook it yourself", ect. She'd always have his meal/whatever he needed ready. It wasn't until they spent too much time here in the West (and became indoctrinated by western media) that my mom became less and less caring, understanding, and complacent and more of a "cook it yourself" harpy American housewife.
