I’m not saying it is mental retardation because there are smart autistic people, many even on this site, I envy you because I had to be one of the dumb autists.
But overall you can’t tell me it doesn’t go hand and hand to some degree with mental retardation.
A lot of the symptoms just make you act stupid, not to mention the amount of deficiencies you have compared to NTs.
And let’s not even mention the fact that autism at the most severe levels pretty much does make you actually retarded, unable to even speak really and make noises all the time, needing constant care. The more severe it is, the lower the cognitive function.
On my test results it was quite embarrassing, but they swore up and down that I don’t have a low IQ no matter how much I asked them, they said that the things they tested for don’t account for my overall intelligence basically, but that’s too hard to believe, how can you be so incompetent without being of lower IQ? Things that come so easy to the average person is more effort for me.
