There is so much I didn't experience in life and I don't just mean in terms of having a girlfriend, it goes beyond that. For example Pokémon was banned in my house because my family was influenced by fundamentalism, and so I never got to have the experience of playing Pokémon games in the early 2010s or trading cards with friends (which I didn't have either). Some time ago I was in a developmental program which forced me to interact with other people my age, and it wasn't a great experience but it was progress in any case. I went rock climbing a few times with some of them, and I almost enjoyed myself, until I got hit with this wave of realization like I wasn't really there but was just cosplaying something that should have already happened.

I was completely stunted socially, and while I may get into the dynamics of that at some point, suffice to say the results are clear. In the words of my younger brother, who has become surprisingly based far sooner than I did—I like to think I set a good example—you can't make up for experiences you didn't have.

I hate the way the dash has been stigmatized as a sign of low-IQ because AI chat, I've been using it myself long before then

At 41 and working in a corporate job, I am stuck in a strange psychological netherworld between being psychologically-aged way too fast because of cynicism, yet being psychologically-stunted due to being an incel and virgin at this age.

That's exactly how I feel, accelerated in some aspects but underdeveloped in others.

Also that is impressive you made it to over 40 as a cel :feelsaww: I'm roping at 30 personally

yeah i agree, in some aspects, i hate finding out stuff at 38 which normies knew as teens. thats why we will never have the maturity as our age.

I have other things I want to do other than "curing" my inceldom.

In my case, since I never thought that it would have even been possible not to be an "incel" in high school, "sex" was just something that happened to other people since then. After awhile, you stop missing what you never could have had in the first place.

I recently overheard a group of people talking about their favorite Pokémons and they were trying to guess one person's favorite, and at one point they said wait is it just Pikachu in a really pejorative tone as if that would be an embarrassment because it's so basic. But sitting silently by, I had to admit, that would've been my answer, because that was the only one I ever knew just from seeing it in various places.

Another thing was I found out what Hatsune Miku was like 1.5 years ago when it has literally been a well-loved thing for over a decade :feelswhat:

psychologically stunted
emotionally stunted
financially stunted
sexually stunted

TV shows also, never watched any of the popular stuff like Breaking Bad and I've had to educate myself to understand the excessive online references to it. Also with neurotypical pop music, I mostly don't listen to it. In fact my most feared question is "what kind of music do you listen to" because I mostly just don't listen or when I do, it's more esoteric/autistic stuff.

Music one is relatable lol, as i mostly listen to few random stuff and game osts.

This is probably my favorite musician ever, his work really speaks to me, especially the older tracks like this. I've listened to this one song probably hundreds of times:

There's something about his style that really captures what it feels like to be an incel

No idea why people can't understand that the em dash has been used universally before AI

Do you type them somehow or copy-paste?

Do you do a lot of formal writing?
Yes somewhat, although English will always be my least-favorite subject after what I was put through in HS. The excessive days of essay writing on pointless subjects definitely had a hand in pushing me towards STEM.

Ha, I was debating whether to go in further depth, but I have to now. It wasn't a woman actually, it was this extremely ultra-conservative boomer who was (I think?) ultimately a decent person but had way too much influence on my teenage years. Off the wall character who used his teaching platform for religious propaganda—every literary study was through a religious lens even if that had nothing to do with the book in question.

I heard from my younger brother, who also got subjected to him, that he went a bit psychotic since my era. He would tell him how he would have to "die for his faith" (persecution complex :lul:) and also randomly lecture on sexual moralism, although I don't believe this happened as much. Anyway, just one contributing factor of my strange incel history.

America… radical evangelical are an outsized force here.

I can imagine it sounds strange to outsiders, and I sometimes have to remember not everyone is steeped in my own lore, as I am. The circumstances of my pre-college education were unusual, although what I can say is limited for security.

Brutal. Rural schools are shitty too. Combo of extremely easy classes to keep the fetal alcohol kids from dropping out and bad circumstances being overlooked by colleges and scholarships because you aren't a skin color that will look good on their marketing material, truly never began

I'm of the opinion that the hardline religious culture I came from played a major role in my inceldom. But that's too complex a topic to broach at this hour of night/morning/idk anymore.

Definitely a strong association between religious upbringing and inceldom. Most of them just cope saying they are waiting for marriage
