I did that with my old monitor and reached 75hz as well. I own a 144hz monitor nowadays so what's the point. The difference is massive

You can build an okay gaming pc that plays most games today if you don't mind going with used parts off ebay - make sure items aren't located in China, anywhere in North America is ok.

I went with a Vostro 260 for $40+shipping or you can get a Dell Optiplex like this for $49 - Then I got a new Nvidia GT 1030 for $90 but you can get a used 750ti cheaper and its bit faster.

Then upgrade ram, ssd, cpu and better power supply down the road if you want.

Stuff i've read says it might shorten lifespan of monitor but last brand new monitor i bought only lasted 2 years before some red horizontal lines started appearing and i never overclocked that one

I noticed a diff going from 60 to 75 so 144 must be nice, is that an IPS panel? I was looking for an IPS 144hz but they are super pricey so just went with IPS 60hz.

It's a TN panel. I have a tv for shows and other stuff. An IPS panel as a second monitor sounds like a good idea. Playinv games or just simply using dezktop applications feels amazing
