Because you'll never be mentally healthy. Like when I go on the wagon I can get obsessed with running and eating well (ish) but ultimately the depression comes back cos there's no one to talk to who might give a shit.
 
If you're not healthy you'll start to feel physical pain. And then, not having anyone to talk to will become the least of your worries.

Being mentally AND physically unhealthy is worse than being just mentally unhealthy.

Being healthy isn't a cope. It's necessary to prevent physical pain.

Your mental health is a separate issue altogether. You'll have to find ways to cope or get better. But don't throw away your health because you're not doing well mentally.

I guess my question was really why not just rope than go through all the rigmarole (if you'll never be happy)?

If someone's convinced that they'll never be "happy", then there's nothing I can say to them that would change their mind about roping.

But why exactly is happiness so important?

What is happiness to you?

Give me an example of something that makes you happy.

Are you sure you're not confusing excitement or some other temporary emotion with happiness???

Or do you think happiness is merely the absence of sadness?

Just when i thought i was out they pull me back in

The depression constantly comes back and pulls me back into that seemingly inescapable black pit of misery and desolation. And you're right, nothing will make missing out on life itself fine. We are dead men walking, our timer for our self-deletion was set the moment we were born

My lack of a social life and Non NT behavior is the reason I don't go to the gym, that and to avoid being mogged.
 
I still go to the gym. Being physically healthy definitely helped my mental state but I’m still an introvert
 
Tbh it doesn't take much to keep relatively fit as a young man. Just don't eat shitty and get a moderate amount of movement every day if possible.
 
I agree exactly.

I have been able to:

-Meditate

-Nofap

-Block out technology light before bed

-No phone when I wake up or in bed to fall asleep

-Workout

-Apply Lip Balm daily

-Make my bed daily


At one point I was doing all this however it all comes crashing down because I have zero social life and no GF.

Last time I was at this peak it ended when I quit my job, because my parents harassed me for it and thought I was making a mistake and would just be NEET and a burden to them.

My parents are the only people in my life so without them I had no support system so I turned to my phone and porn and stopped all this shit.
